Mind Body Baby is the first and only Yoga Alliance Registered Prenatal Yoga School in West Michigan.

This course is well suited for anyone who is called to the perinatal support world or those who are looking to deepen their knowledge and understanding of prenatal and postpartum support through a yoga lens.

Our mission for Mind Body Baby’s training is to provide comprehensive and compassionate prenatal and postpartum yoga teacher training, equipping instructors and birth workers with the knowledge, skills, and sensitivity needed to support pregnant individuals in mind, body, and spirit.

Through a curriculum rooted in safety, inclusivity, and mindfulness, we aim to create a community of educators who inspire, support, and empower expectant parents to embrace the physical, emotional, and spiritual dimensions of pregnancy. Our mission extends beyond the classroom as we strive to foster a global network of prenatal yoga teachers dedicated to nurturing the connection between mind, body, and baby, ultimately fostering a deep sense of empowerment, trust, and strength throughout the sacred journey to motherhood.

Heidi’s training is intentionally crafted to unravel the “WHYs” through a modern lens. “Learning how to support someone is not the same as understanding why you made that choice.” -Heidi McDowell

Meet Heidi

Heidi McDowell is the owner and founder of Mind Body Baby and the Mind Body Baby Collective. She is the lead instructor and program director for this training.

She is West Michigan’s only active Yoga Alliance Registered Prenatal Yoga Teacher (RPYT). She is a Birth and Postpartum Doula also holding certifications as an E-RYT 200, YACEP, Barre Instructor, Children’s Yoga Instructor, Mom + Baby Teacher, Fertility Yoga Instructor, Body Ready Method Certified Pro, and Spinning Babies enthusiast.

Having grown up as one of 15 children Heidi never imagined her journey to becoming a mother would be so damn hard. She considers herself an IVF survivor and is a proud mama to daughter, Marlowe, three. Heidi was fortunate enough to have been a yoga practitioner for nearly 15 years prior to her infertility struggles and for her, yoga has remained the heart of how she supports parents.

“I could remain West Michigan’s only Yoga Alliance RPYT, or I could recognize the need for more support in this community. It’s time to raise the standard of care and bridge the gap between medicine and movement.” -Heidi McDowell
