General FAQ

I’ve never practiced yoga before, is that ok?

Yes. You will find many first-time students in the class around you. Class is designed to honor the needs and perhaps the limitations of your body. All postures can be modified to the level of the student.

When should I start practicing yoga?

Yoga will benefit the mind and body at any point in life. As long as you feel ready and your medical provider has cleared you for physical activity, the time to start is now. It’s never too late to feel the benefits of yoga, community, and support.

When can I return to postpartum yoga?

For vaginal births you must wait until bleeding has stopped, around 4 weeks after birth. For cesarean sections you must wait at least 6 weeks. Please consult with your doctor prior to returning to yoga. Check out our Survival Groups in the meantime.

What should I wear to yoga?

Comfortable clothes that allow for some stretch. No perfumes or strong scents please. We practice barefoot.

Where do I park?

There is zoned street parking on Lake Dr., in the lot directly behind the studio, the lot next door to Yesterdog, and in the ramp at the Kingsley building (Terra GR).

Do I need to sign up ahead of time?

We wouldn’t want you to come to class to find out it’s full. Our class size is limited so we do recommend pre-registration. If the class is full, registration will not allow you to sign up. Check it out before you leave the house. We recommend signing up for the classes you want to take well in advance.

What should I bring to class?

Yourself, your yoga mat, a water bottle. We do have a limited number of mats available for rent. Don’t want to bring anything? Check out our cubby rentals and leave your things at the studio!

Can I bring my baby?

Babies are welcome to attend all baby-friendly classes or you can let them enjoy snuggles in the childcare room. Baby-friendly classes will be listed as such on the schedule. We want to ensure the mamas who need quiet time away are gifted that during class.

What if I need to feed my baby during class?

We are a no judgement, no expectations kind of place. During class you are fully free to care for your child as you need. Walk around, offer snuggles, breastfeed or bottle feed. We support and encourage a fed and happy baby.

How do I pause my class package or membership?

Send us an email, hello@mindbodybaby.org. You can pause once per year for up to 4 months. If you’re a prenatal student, you can’ll pause when your baby arrives and reactivate once you’re ready to return for postpartum classes.

I love your studio so much, how do I tell my friends?

Well, we love you too! Nothing means more to us than making our students feel so welcome that they want to invite their friends.  You can share our website, social media pages or even just our name with your friends. Tell them to share that you referred them so we can be sure to thank you.
